Intro
These are the student projects that I have worked on as an undergraduate at DigiPen. I was in the Lead Programmer position on each of these projects, and worked with multidisciplinary teams of 2, 4, and 13 members. I worked on each of these projects from conceptualization to the final product by meeting the scheduled milestones (Engine Proof, First Playable, Alpha, Beta, and Gold.)
Conglopoly 2 - Lead Programmer
[September 2012 - May 2013]
Overview:
Conglopoly is a frantic convenience store management game in which players must keep their store stocked with items to keep customers happy. Customers will filter in and out of the store purchasing items, and the player must make sure to restock items that run out of inventory or else customers won't be able to buy anything and the store won't make any money. Once the player earns enough money, they will be able to build more stores and earn even more money. Conglopoly is a two-semester project created by two fourth-year students (myself, and Robert Srader) at DigiPen Institute of Technology. I built the engine from the ground up using C++ for the engine architecture, OpenGL for graphics, Bullet for physics, SFML for sound and windowing, and JavaScript (SpiderMonkey) for game logic. Derelict - Lead Programmer
[June 2011 - May 2012]
|
Video:
This is a teaser video of the game that our team released in 2012. |
Overview:
Derelict is a networked, 1v1 FPS that takes place on an abandoned alien space craft in zero gravity. Players assume the role of either the human or the alien. The human is stranded on the derelict ship and must search and collect energy to escape. The alien must stop the human from stealing the energy at all costs. I worked on this student project with a large multidisciplinary team of 12 other people. One producer, One designer, four other programmers, a computer engineer, and the rest artists. The project was one of the most valuable learning experiences at DigiPen because of the many unique and difficult problems that are faced with such a large student team, as well as the large technical scope. Here is a link to the game in the DigiPen game gallery. |

Glo - Lead Programmer
[September 2010 - May 2011]
Overview: Glo is a 2D top-down shooter in which the player defeats waves of different enemies to progress through the level. The player can collect various upgrades to dispatch the enemies that swarm them.
I worked as the lead programmer on this student project with a team of 3 other programmers. The one year of development was particularly challenging and exciting because it was my first foray into C++ game engine design and architecture. |

Conglopoly - Lead Programmer
[January 2010 - May 2010]
|
Video:
This video demonstrates game-play for Conglopoly for early and late game. The yellow dots are the customers coming in and out of the store and buying the various products that the player places. When the products are empty, or a store needs maintaining, they will flash with red brackets and the player must click on them. |
Overview:
Conglopoly is a 2D ASCII diner dash/market simulator. The player builds stores and fills them with products. The intent is to satisfy as many customers as possible. while collecting all of the money from each store and making sure all products are re-stocked. I was the lead programmer for this student project, and worked with 3 other programmers. The game is built completely in C, and uses the windows Console as a frame buffer for ASCII graphics. The development spanned about half of a year. |
