Introduction
My name is Ryan Davey. I am a game software engineer living in the greater Seattle area. I am a graduate from DigiPen Institute of Technology with a bachelors degree in Computer Science in Real Time Interactive Simulation.
Career Goals
- Use my skill-set in whatever way possible to help create games which can bring joy and entertainment into people's lives for years to come.
- Build robust and extensible architectures and tools which provide the foundation for the creation of video games.
- Be involved in projects from the earliest to the latest phases of conceptualization, planning, design, implementation and testing.
Interests
- Computer programming and computers in general - Obviously
- Video games - Puzzle, Strategy, and RPG are my favorite genres but I try not to restrict myself to them.
- Documentaries - Absorbing information from the internet in the form of documentaries (as well as blogs, articles, etc.)
- Film - I enjoy watching and critiquing any type of film from animation, short, long, blockbuster, indie, and so-on.
- Korean culture (food!) - Travel and cultures are of huge interest to me, but Korean culture is of special interest because my wife is Korean. My favorite part of traveling is trying new foods and drinks.
- Music of any kind - I love everything about music.
- Beers, Wines, and Coffees - Sampling the near infinite variety of these beverages will never grow old for me.
- Reading - I will read pretty much anything. My rule of thumb is that if I think I will not enjoy a book then I am probably wrong. I then have to force myself to read it.
- Exercise - Staying fit and healthy is important to me, and I greatly enjoy the gratification of noticing that my fitness has improved in some way. I enjoy walking, hiking, and weight training.
